Early Life and Career

Born on April 23, 1996, in Cervera, Spain, Álex Márquez Alentà is the younger brother of six-time MotoGP World Champion Marc Márquez. Growing up in a family passionate about motorcycle racing, Álex developed an early interest in the sport and began his racing career at a young age.

Success in Moto2

In 2014, Márquez made his Grand Prix debut in the Moto3 class, finishing the season in 14th place. The following year, he moved up to Moto2 and quickly rose through the ranks. In 2019, he won the Moto2 World Championship, becoming the first rider to win both Moto3 and Moto2 titles.

Move to MotoGP

In 2020, Márquez joined the Repsol Honda Team alongside his brother Marc. However, his rookie season was challenging, as he struggled to adjust to the powerful MotoGP bikes. Undeterred, Márquez persevered and began to show his potential in subsequent seasons.

2023 Season

For the 2023 season, Márquez moved to the Gresini Racing team, riding a Ducati Desmosedici GP23. He has already impressed in pre-season testing, setting the fastest lap time at the Losail International Circuit.
